Community build 2014 - First year
​
Every year, it is compulsory for construction students to participate in the annual community build organised by the Association of the build environment students (ABES). It was 40 hours training program that took place at the Tembaletu from the 1st to the 5th of September 2014. There were 4 teams that had been assigned with specific tasks; Garden works, bathroom refurbishment, playground and front of house. I was part of the playground team. Here is the link to our blog:

Ong-Sen Goburdhun & partners is a mauritian based quantity surveying and project management firm that was founded in 1987 by Mr Ong-Sen and Mr Satish Goburdhun.It is this firm who first started the practice of quantity surveying in Mauritius. I have had the opportunity to work for this esteemed company for 120 hours(From 9am to 5pm, 5 days a week) to complete my practical training for CON1007X

2Futures Ltd is a real estate promoter company which was created in 2007. Its main office is in Mauritius but it has branches in Cape Town and Paris. It mainly builds integrated resort schemes (IRS) and real estate schemes projects (RES). The company's vision is to deliver luxury living within high-quality residential, hospitality, leisure and commercial developments. To work in such a prestigious company to complete my 320 hours (From 9am to 5pm, 5 days a week) of practical training for both CON2013X and CON3023X was truly a privilege. The company was more than happy with my work and accepted my application as a trainee QS to complete my practical training for CON4035X.
